EWA TRIBAL JEWELRY

Ewa Gallery has created its own range of tribal inspired jewelry, handmade from antique New Guinea, Moroccan and Timor pieces.  Each jewelry item is individual with antique Sepik shell currency, old Moroccan silver, tusks and vintage fabrics all combined to create one off pieces.

New Arrivals to Ewa Oceanic Sepik Gallery

The diversity of artistic styles in the art creation by the people of the Sepik region in Papua New Guinea is overwhelming.  The carvers and weavers from numerous villages along the Sepik river create art objects that are used in ceremony, ancestral representation, spiritual protection and everyday use.  The objects that have been created are nothing less than world class.  Ewa Oceanic Sepik Art Gallery aims to provide a glimps into the art diversity of Papua New Guinea with new arrivals to our Ubud gallery being featured below.


Abelam Karawut Warrior Back Adornment - This is a fine tightly woven Abelam Karawut, which is worn to adorn the backs of male warriors. The woven face has a pierced nasal septum for adornment and the body of the piece is filled with herbs and bone believed to assist and protect the warrior in tribal warfare. Abelam Woven Amulet - Abelam Maprik Amulet. This is a beautiful old fine woven amulet from the Maprik region. Mud and pigment encrusted this tightly woven piece with its endearing face is truly unique. Oceanic Art - Papua New Guinea Art - Old Rare Lower Sepik Dance Mask. Dance masks from this region often represent powerful spirits. This specific mask has an elegant artistic form with fine engraving above the eyes with a delicate nose and ears. The outer rim is pierced for attachments and the nose has evidence of much handling.
